When a new leader or member(s) join a team, it is critical to align on the guiding principles for the team and create clarity of direction, define roles and deepen commitment to the team. Team alignment sets the foundation that leads into team effectiveness work and is an ongoing process as teams evolve.
Once the team alignment foundation is set, it is important to be intentional about how we continue to evolve and work together. Focusing on how we function and developing skills and techniques to improve team culture and dynamics helps create flow in how we work.
Any time we make a change in our organization, the teams within are impacted. Company mergers as well as reorganizations require people to shift and assimilate the change personally and collectively. Focusing on team alignment and effectiveness elements is a critical part of the change plan.
